This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of augmentin 500mg twice daily (500 mg, 250 mg) in the treatment of patients with refractory chronic cough (CC) in the treatment of chronic cough (CC) in adult patients with anorexia nervosa (AN).
A total of 16 adult patients with AN with a duration of 24 weeks were included. The study included 8 female (6-year-old) and 5 male (6-year-old) patients with a duration of 14 days or longer. The patients were treated with augmentin 500mg twice daily (500 mg, 250 mg) for 24 weeks and were followed for a period of 12 months. After this period, a final examination was done for all patients. The patients were followed for 12 months. The study was approved by the institutional review board of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Turkey. All patients provided written informed consent to participate in the study.
A total of 16 patients with AN were included in the study. The patients were diagnosed with a chronic cough (CC) defined as the absence of at least 6 of the following signs and symptoms of acute exacerbation of chronic cough: cough with no or mild symptoms, cough with no or moderate symptoms, cough with no or mild symptoms, cough with mild symptoms, and cough with moderate symptoms (see below).
A total of 8 female (6-year-old) and 5 male (6-year-old) patients with a duration of 24 weeks were included.
The mean age of the patients was 46.4 ± 13.2 years, and the mean duration of the patients was 12.3 ± 7.2 months. The patients had a duration of 12.8 ± 4.2 months in the first 3 months and 12.6 ± 4.5 months in the 4-6 months and 12-16 months.
